In the following we’ll give you a short introduction into customizing your template with out Template Designer Editor.

Getting Started

The Template Designer is currently optimized for the Mozilla Firefox Browser. This is very widely used and can be obtained from mozilla.org (click here) for free. Please use this browser to customize your auction template.

Undo Changes: If you want to undo a change, this can be done with the key combination Ctrl+Z (PC) or Cmd+Z (Mac). Besides that, we provide two Undo/Redo-Buttons in the toolsbar.

1. Step: Saving and loading the template data

First you should load the Source-Code – meaning the .html/.txt-file which you downloaded – into the Template Designer. You can do this by clicking the “load/upload template from your computer” button in the tool bar.

A popup of your local file system will appear. Please choose the .html-file that you’ve downloaded and click “Open“.

To save the current state of your template, please click on the “save/download template“-button in the toolbar.

2. Step: Insert images

If you don’t need any of the placeholders that come with the template, please feel free to leave them. The template will detect unused placeholders by itself and will hide them once you save your template-data on your computer by using the “Save Template” Button.

You can insert links by clicking the appropriate placeholder from the dummy data and click on the “change/insert image” button in the toolbar. A popup will appear asking you for the URL of your image. You can use free cloud storage like Dropbox, Google Drive, Tinypic or use your own webspace.

In order to change the gallery images please open the “Template Configuration” Menu by clicking the gear-icon in the toolbar.

3. Step: Insert text

In order to replace the text which comes with the template please highlight the desired paragraph and start writing. You’ll find the most popular word processing tools in the toolbar.

4. Step: Link "Best Seller"- und "Matching"-Products

Once you’ve inserted your images as we described in the second step, you’re able to link the items in the “Best Sellers”- and “Matching Products”-Areas.

If you don’t need any of the Cross-Selling-Products, please leave them. The template will detect wether you inserted content and will hide these placeholders if you didn’t.

First, please highlight the image and link it by clicking “change/insert link“. After you’ve done so, please do the same process with the text (product name & price).

5. Step: Upload your template to eBay

Once you’ve completed the customizing process for your first item, please click on the “save template“-button.

Then open the .txt-file file, which you’ve just downloaded. Highlight the complete text by pressing Ctrl+A (PC) / Cmd+A (Mac) and then copy it by pressing Ctrl+C (PC) / Cmd+C (Mac).

After that go to the eBay selling page and insert the text into the “HTML”-Tab by pressing Ctrl+V (PC) / Cmd+V (Mac).

Congratulations, that’s it! Your auction template is now placed on eBay!

Change Color Theme

You can choose your color with the color picker, which is the first button in the toolbar.

Link navigation elements

After you set up your account data in the Template Configuration Menu, every navigation element (ask-a-questions-button,feedback, ebay shop link etc.) will be linked automatically as soon as you save your template on your Computer using the “Save Template”-Button.

TO LINK CATEGORIES IN OUR MINIMALIST TEMPLATE: Please highlight the appropriate top navigation element and click “insert link”. To add more categories in our Minimalist Template, please press the return-Key on your keyboard after clicking an existing category-link in the header.
